The hallway of Het Ambachtslab [‘The Crafts Lab’], a gathering of various artisanal and creative professionals of which Atelier Espenaer is part of too.
The Lab is located in a former school building with some very peculiar architectural features. With its straight lines and rectangular shapes, the building felt a little cold in the beginning, but we’ve come to appreciate and love it. ❤
This beautiful hand saw by Dutch manufacturer Duifje was also among the tools we were lucky to get.
Would you like to go beyond basic woodworking skills and learn to make woodworking joints that require a little bit more proficiency and sophistication? Espenaer now offers a new course as a follow-up to its existing beginner’s course.
Are you into a new hobby and serious about it? We offer a very attractive package deal if you decide to do both courses in a row! Visit our page on courses for more information.
Glimpses of the first session of this month’s courses: designing, measuring, and marking.. and then the first cut!
Some time ago we had the chance to meet a kind retired woodworker, specializing in barometers. He still had some wood and tools left and asked whether we would be willing to relieve him from those for a small price. Last weekend we paid him a visit and were lucky to find, among others, an enormous set of chisels and gouges, most by the renowned Nooitgedagt, a former Dutch tools manufacturer. Couldn’t be more happy with these.❤
A drawer in the making. The grooves were cut using a combination plane.
